How to Clean a Merrychef eikon Oven

Cooking up sandwiches and other small, grab-and-go items can leave everything from melted cheese to crumbs all over your speed oven. Rather than letting that make the unit unsanitary and inefficient for future cooking, give it the washing it needs. We’re going to cover how to clean a Merrychef eikon oven so you can have it looking like new for the lunch rush.

The following procedure is applicable to eikon oven models such as e2, e2s, e3e4 and e4s.

Cleaning Instructions

The Merrychef eikon should be cleaned daily.

  • Step 1. Begin cooling - Enter cool down mode by selecting the cleaning icon on the touchscreen.
    • Note: Some models will also require pressing a blue thermometer icon before beginning the cool down process.
  • Step 2. Speed up cooling - Place a tray of ice into the unit to help speed up the cooling process.
  • Step 3. Proceed on the touchscreen - Press the green checkmark to confirm the tray of ice is loaded in the unit and start cool down.
  • Step 4. Unload the oven - Remove the tray of ice from the oven once cooling is completed.
  • Step 5. Remove oven components - Depending on your specific eikon model, certain components need to be removed from the oven:
    • e2: cook plate
    • e3: turntable and catalytic converter
    • e4: rack
  • Step 6. Clean out food particles - Use a dry brush to scrub out food particles inside the unit and between the oven floor and inside the front door.
  • Step 7. Clean the oven cavity - Use Merrychef oven cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the oven interior except the impinger plates of e2 and e4 models. Then let the cleaner sit for 10 minutes before rinsing.
    • Note: Don’t spray the cleaner directly on oven surfaces, fan openings or on the door seal.
  • Step 8. Rinse the oven cavity - Use a damp cloth to rinse the oven interior and impinger plates. Then let it air dry.
  • Step 9. Proceed on the touchscreen - Press the green checkmark to confirm oven cavity cleaning is finished.
  • Step 10. Remove filters - Remove the air filter from the unit. The exact location can vary based on the specific eikon model.
  • Step 11. Clean components - At a sink, use dish soap and water to wash the removed oven components and air filter. Then thoroughly rinse them.
    • Note: Let all components air dry before reinstalling.
  • Step 12. Reinstall components - Reinstall the filter and other components in the reverse order of how they were removed.
  • Step 13. Proceed on the touchscreen - Press the green checkmark to confirm oven filter cleaning is finished.
  • Step 14. Clean the exterior - Use a soft cloth and dish soap to clean the oven exterior.
  • Step 15. Rinse the exterior - Use a damp cloth to rinse the oven exterior. Then let it air dry.
