How to Clean a Perlick Glass Washer
Keeping pint glasses and champagne flutes sparkling clean is easy with well-maintained warewashing equipment. So if sticky liquids and other debris is accumulating in equipment, it’s time to wash it. This guide will show you how to clean a Perlick glass washer so you can have it ready to get glasses looking like new.
This guide is applicable to rotary glass washers models such as the PKBR24.
Supplies
- Scrub brush
- Sponge
- Water
- Dish soap
- Cleaning cloths
- Stainless steel cleaner
Cleaning Instructions
Perlick glass washers should be cleaned daily to ensure they’re clean for the next shift.
- Step 1. Drain the unit - Press the lower portion of the power/drain switch for 10 seconds to drain the tank.
- Step 2. Power down the unit - Unplug the power cord to fully shut down the unit.
- Step 3. Unload the unit - Remove any remaining glassware and both racks from the glass washer.
- Step 4. Inspect components - Check the filter and float switch for food debris and clear it away as needed.
- Step 5. Loosen debris - Loosen any caked-on debris inside and outside the unit with a scrub brush.
- Step 6. Wash the interior - Use a sponge and soapy water to clean the interior and conveyor of the glass washer.
- Step 7. Rinse the interior - Use a damp cloth to rinse the interior and conveyor of the unit and then a separate, clean cloth to dry them.
- Step 8. Clean the exterior - Use a clean cloth and stainless steel cleaner to clean the unit exterior.
- Step 9. Clean the racks - Wash the racks at a sink with soapy water and a sponge.
- Step 10. Rinse the racks - At the sink, use water to rinse the racks. Then dry them with a clean cloth.
- Step 11. Reinstall components - Reload the racks into the glass washer.
