How to Clean an Antunes Vertical Contact Toaster
Crumbs and grease can leave commercial cooking equipment a mess. At the end of each day, it’s important to wipe down equipment to keep it running in the peak condition. If you’re unsure of the steps and supplies needed for the job, follow this guide to learn how to clean an Antunes vertical contact toaster so you can have it looking like new.
The following steps are applicable to models such as the VCT-2, VCT-2000 and the VCT-30.
Supplies
- Heat resistant gloves
- Sponge
- Cloth
- Water
- Dish soap
- Stainless steel cleaner
Cleaning Instructions
The following steps should be performed daily.
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Turn off the unit, unplug the power cord and wait for the toaster to cool down for 30 minutes before beginning to clean it.
- Step 2. Remove components - Remove the bun feeder, bun chute and release sheet from the toaster.
- Note. Wear heat resistant gloves while handling components.
- Step 3. Clean components - At a sink, clean and rinse the bun feeder and bun chute with a cloth or sponge and dish soap.
- Note. Let components air dry.
- Step 4. Clean the release sheet - Wipe the silver and black sides of the release sheet with a damp towel and dish soap.
- Step 5. Rinse the sheet - At a sink, rinse the release sheet with water.
- Note. Let the sheet air dry.
- Step 6. Open the cover - Open the front conveyor cover while wearing heat resistant gloves.
- Step 7. Clean the conveyor - Firmly wipe the conveyor belt from left to right and top to bottom with a rag dampened with multipurpose solution.
- Step 8. Rinse the belt - Rinse the conveyor by firmly wiping it with a damp cloth from right to left and top to bottom.
- Note. Let it air dry.
- Step 9. Close the cover - Close the front conveyor cover once the belt is fully dry.
- Step 10. Open the other cover - Open up the rear conveyor cover.
- Step 11. Clean the conveyor - Firmly wipe the conveyor belt from left to right and top to bottom with a rag dampened with multipurpose solution.
- Step 12. Rinse the belt - Rinse the conveyor by firmly wiping it with a damp cloth from right to left and top to bottom.
- Note. Let it air dry.
- Step 13. Close the cover - Close the rear conveyor cover once the belt is fully dry.
- Step 14. Power on the unit - Plug in and turn on the unit and wait for 10 seconds. Then turn it back off.
- Step 15. Unplug the unit - Unplug the power cord.
- Step 16. Open and clean the conveyor - Open the rear conveyor and wipe down the belt again with a cloth dampened with water and dish soap.
- Note. Rinse with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
- Step 17. Close the cover - Close the rear conveyor cover.
- Step 18. Open and clean the conveyor - Open the front conveyor and wipe down the belt again with a cloth dampened with water and dish soap.
- Note. Rinse with a damp cloth and let it air dry.
- Step 19. Close the cover - Close the front conveyor cover.
- Step 20. Install the sheet - Reinstall the release sheet.
- Step 21. Reinstall components - Reinstall the bun chute and bun feeder.
- Step 22. Clean the exterior - Use a cloth and soapy water to clean the exterior.
- Step 23. Polish the exterior - Use stainless steel cleaner and a cloth to polish the exterior.
