How to Clean an Imperial Gas Range
Between sauces spilling over and grease splashing around, gas ranges can see an assortment of food messes. Cleaning up is easy when you have the right guide to get you through the chore. We can help you learn how to clean an Imperial gas range, so your oven and burners can stay hygienic and clean for the next shift.
Imperial Gas Range Oven Cleaning Instructions
- Step 1. Power down unit - Before starting cleaning, power down the unit and allow it to cool before continuing.
- Step 2. Remove oven door - Pull off the oven door to remove it.
- Step 3. Remove racks and oven bottom - Remove the baking racks and the oven bottom by lifting it out from the front and sliding it forward. Set these aside for cleaning later.
- Step 4. Wash oven interior - Using a sponge and soapy water, wash the inside of the oven cavity. For stuck-on stains, use a nylon griddle scraper to remove them.
- Step 5. Rinse oven interior - Use a cloth damped with ¼ cup vinegar and 1 quart water to rinse the oven interior.
- Step 6. Dry oven interior - Thoroughly dry the oven interior with a soft, dry cloth.
- Step 7. Clean racks and oven bottom - Wash the baking racks and the oven bottom with a sponge and soapy water.
- Step 8. Rinse and dry racks and bottom - Thoroughly rinse and dry both the baking racks and oven bottom.
- Step 9. Reinstall parts - Reinstall the oven bottom and the baking racks back into the oven.
- Step 10. Clean exterior - Clean the exterior with a soft cloth and either hot, soapy water or stainless steel cleaner.
Gas Range Open Burners Cleaning Instructions
- Step 1. Remove grates and heads - Remove all the grates and burner heads.
- Step 2. Scrub dirt and debris - Use a dry brush to scrub dirt and debris from the grates and burner heads. Don’t use water to clean cast iron grates and burner heads.
- Step 3. Reinstall burners and grates - Reinstall the burner heads and open grates.
