How to Clean an Ovention MiLO Oven
Maintenance for commercial ovens is vital in order to keep them running efficiently and looking like new. This can be performed at different intervals such as daily, weekly and even monthly. If you’re not sure what to do when, look no further. In this video guide, we’ll cover how to clean an Ovention MiLO oven properly.
The following steps are applicable to Ovention Milo units such as the MiLO-14 and MiLO2-16.
Supplies
- Cleaning cloths
- Sponge
- Mild detergent
- Water
- Stainless steel cleaner
- Ovention oven cleaner
- Mild degreaser
- Bucket
Daily Cleaning
- Step 1. Press the Power Off option on the touchscreen and wait for the cooling fans to turn off.
- Note: This step needs to be repeated on additional screens for MiLO2 units.
- Step 2. Turn off both the upper and lower circuit breakers on the back of the unit.
- Step 3. Turn off the control reset switches.
- Step 4. Unplug the unit power cord.
- Step 5. Using a cloth, wipe out any spills or food debris from the oven cavities.
- Step 6. Remove cooking racks from all of the oven cavities.
- Step 7. Clean the racks with a sponge, mild detergent and water.
- Step 8. Rinse the cooking racks with water and set them aside to air dry.
- Step 9. With a soft cloth and stainless steel cleaner, clean the oven exterior.
- Step 10. Reinstall the cooking racks.
Weekly Cleaning
For weekly cleaning, start by performing steps 1-8 from daily cleaning.
- Step 9. Clean both oven interiors with a soft cloth and Ovention oven cleaner.
- Note: Don’t spray the cleaner directly into the cavity.
- Step 10. Rinse the cavities with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry.
- Step 11. Remove the drip trays.
- Step 12. Clean the drip trays with Ovention oven cleaner and a cloth.
- Step 13. Rinse the drip trays with a damp cloth and set them aside to air dry.
- Step 14. With a soft cloth and stainless steel cleaner, clean the oven exterior.
- Step 15. Reinstall the drip trays and cooking racks.
Monthly Cleaning
- Step 1. Press the Power Off option on the touchscreen and wait for the cooling fans to turn off.
- Note: This step needs to be repeated on additional screens for MiLO2 units.
- Step 2. Turn off both the upper and lower circuit breakers on the back of the unit.
- Step 3. Turn off the control reset switches.
- Step 4. Unplug the unit power cord.
- Step 5. Clean the touchscreens with mild degreaser and a soft sponge.
- Note: Don’t spray degreaser directly onto the screens.
- Step 6. Remove the air filters. There should be one large one and either one or two small ones depending on whether the unit is a single batch or double batch unit.
- Step 7. Soak the filters in soapy water.
- Step 8. Rinse and dry the filters.
- Step 9. Reinstall all the filters.
