A straightforward interface and quick operation make Perlick glass washers indispensable in foodservice establishments. Since hard water and frequent usage can lead to lime buildup, our guide on how to delime a Perlick glass washer will help you maintain your unit’s performance and efficiency for as long as possible.

These instructions are for batch rotary models, such as the PKBR24.

Instructions

  • Step 1. Remove the racks from the unit - Take out the racks and remove any debris from the load and wash areas.
  • Step 2. Press the lower portion of the power/drain switch for 10 seconds to drain the tank - Hold down the power/drain switch for 10 seconds to release chemically-charged water from the unit
  • Step 3. Turn the chemical system power switch off - Flip the switch downward to turn the chemical system off.
  • Step 4. Refill the tank by turning the power/drain switch on - Move the power/drain switch to the “On” position to refill the tank.
  • Step 5. Add the deliming agent into the washing area - Pour delimer into the wash area, using the amount indicated by the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Step 6. Press the wash switch - Rock the wash switch downward to start the deliming process.
  • Step 7. While the wash area is deliming, wipe the loading area and exterior with a damp cloth - Wipe the loading area and unit exterior with a damp cloth while the wash area delimes.
  • Step 8. Dry off the exterior and loading area with a clean cloth - Wipe up any remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
  • Step 9. Press the lower portion of the power/drain switch for 10 seconds to drain the tank - Complete the deliming process by holding down the lower portion of the power/drain switch for 10 seconds to release water from the tank.
  • Step 10. Turn the chemical power switch on - Prepare the unit for service by toggling the chemical power switch to the “On” position.
  • Step 11. Turn on the power/drain switch - Rock the power/drain switch to the “On” position in order to use the unit normally.
