How to Lubricate the Sharpener & Shaft
The mineral oil from Globe is light, tasteless and odorless to not affect the taste or smell of sliced foods.
- Step 1—Remove the knife sharpener by pulling it up by the handle.
- Step 2—Apply drops of the Globe lubricating oil to the exposed shaft of both stones. Push the sharpener handle several times to distribute the oil onto the shafts.
- Step 3—Return the sharpener to the stored position.
- NOTE—If excess oil is present, wipe with a cloth.
How to Lubricate the End Weight Slide Rod
Lubricate the end weight slide rod with a few drops of Globe lubricating oil every week, or if there’s excessive drag.
- Step 1—Apply drops of oil to the end weight slide rod.
- Step 2—Slide the end weight up and down to distribute the oil.
- Step 3—Wipe off any excess oil with a cloth.
- Step 4—Lubricate the carriage knob once every 6 months.
