How to Shut Down a Kenmore Refrigerator

Preparing to Shut Down a Kenmore Refrigerator

  • Step 1. Turn off the fridge and remove all food and beverages.
  • Step 2. Clean the interior surfaces of the fridge and freezer using a sponge and a multipurpose cleaner or a solution of equal parts vinegar and warm water.
  • Step 3. Rinse the interior surfaces with a damp cloth and dry them with a clean cloth.
  • Step 4. Wipe down the door and drawer gaskets with a cloth and multipurpose cleaner or a solution of equal parts vinegar and warm water.
  • Step 5. Use wood blocks to prop the doors open to eliminate odors and mold buildup.

Shutting Down a Kenmore Refrigerator

  • Step 1. Turn the fridge off and remove all food and beverages.
  • Step 2. Remove the shelves, drawers and ice bin from the interior.
  • Step 3. Clean, rinse and dry the interior surfaces of the fridge and freezer.
  • Step 4. Wrap and tape all the removed shelves and drawers in protective material so they don’t break or shift during transit.
  • Step 5. Tape the doors and drawer shut to keep them closed during transit.
