How to Start & Use a Southbend S Series Range
With your new range uncrated and installed, it’s time to learn the steps for operating it. If you’ve already gotten past lighting the pilot on your Southbend range, then you’re ready to move on to the next steps so you can get cooking. Don’t let the unfamiliarity of the unit intimidate you though. Operating it is far easier than you may realize thanks to this video guide. We’ll show you how to start and use a Southbend S series range to create delicious entrees and more.
Starting
- Step 1. Turn the gas manifold to the ON position.
- Step 2. Light the burner pilot.
- Step 3. Turn the burners on to start up the cooktop.
Operating
While using the range is as easy as adjusting the temperature setting and loading product as you go, there are some helpful tips to keep in mind to prolong the life of the unit.
- Tip #1 - Keep stock pots on the back burners to avoid damaging the burner valve.
- Tip #2 - Don’t allow excess dripping, spills and other debris to accumulate on the burners.
- Tip #3 - Don’t leave the burners on HIGH all the time. Adjust the temperature to proper settings or to LOW when the unit is going to remain idle.
