How to Use a Globe S-Series Slicer
Globe’s S Series slicers are vital for any deli or food prep station. They have the ability to slice meats and cheeses to any desired thickness. On top of that, they’re easy to use. Learn how to operate your S Series Globe slicer with the video and guide below.
This guide is specifically for the SG13 and SG13A models.
- Step 1—Put on food-safe gloves.
- Step 2—Tighten all knobs on the slicer.
- Step 3—With the motor turned off, pull the carriage completely toward you to load and unload food. Use the end weight to hold food in place.
- Step 4—Rotate the thickness dial counterclockwise to your desired setting.
- Step 5—Push the START button.
- Step 6—Use the carriage handle to manually push the carriage back and forth.
- NOTE—The carriage handle is the only part of the slicer you should touch while slicing.
- Step 7—Let the slices drop onto the receiving area. To make thick slices, the end weight should be parallel to the carriage surface. To make thin slices, the end weight should be turned 90 degrees from the carriage surface. See video guide for reference.
- WARNING—Do not catch slices as they’re falling.
- Step 8—Turn the slice thickness dial clockwise until it stops to close the gauge plate.
- Step 9—Unload product from the slicer.
- Step 10—Turn off the knife motor after the last stroke.
- NOTE—Make sure to pull the carriage towards you.
- Step 11—Make sure you clean the slicer after use.
