How to Use a Perlick Glass Washer

Having clean pint glasses and champagne flutes is vital to keep a bar running smoothly. With the right equipment, it should be a breeze to keep plenty of clean glassware available. However, if the unit is new, or maybe you’re just new to the business, then you might need a hand on learning the operational steps. That’s why Parts Town is here to show you how to use a Perlick glass washer so you can keep pouring drinks for customers. 

The following steps are applicable to Perlick rotary undercounter glass washer models, such as the PKBR24

Starting the Glass Washer

Before you begin using the equipment, you need to properly start it up.

  • Step 1. Plug in the unit - Plug the power cord into an outlet. 
  • Step 2. Inspect the water and chemical system - Verify that the water supply valve is in the open position and that the chemical system power switch is set to ON.
  • Step 3. Install the racks - Load both of the racks onto the divider
  • Step 4. Power on the unit - Turn on the power/drain switch

Priming the Chemical System & Pumps

To ensure detergent, sanitizer and rinse aid are properly dispensed, they must first be primed.

  • Step 1. Prime the detergent - Press and hold the detergent prime button for 15 seconds. 
  • Step 2. Prime the sanitizer - Press and hold the sanitizer prime button for 15 seconds. 
  • Step 3. Prime the rinse aid - Press and hold the rinse aid prime button for 15 seconds. 

Using the Glass Washer

Now that startup and priming is completed, you can begin using the unit. 

  • Step 1. Load dirty glasses - Load glassware onto the rack and rotate it into the wash area.
    • Note. Be careful not to overload the racks to avoid broken or unclean glassware.
  • Step 2. Start the wash cycle - Press the wash cycle switch to begin cleaning glassware.
    • Note. The cycle complete light will turn on when it’s finished cleaning. 
  • Step 3. Unload - Rotate the rack and unload the clean glasses.
