How to Use an Aladdin Temp-Rite Heat on Demand Activator Properly
A simple way to ensure your commercial holding and warming equipment stays working is by operating it correctly. Learning how to use your unit is vital in order to ensure it doesn’t break down unexpectedly or prematurely. Try these tips on how to use an Aladdin Temp-Rite Heat on Demand activator properly.
The following tips are applicable for Heat on Demand models such as the ADV650 and ADV700.
Operational Do’s
The following tips are what you should do with your Heat on Demand unit.
- Do #1 - Always make sure the unit is plugged in properly. Some power cords need to be twisted and locked into place.
- Do #2 - Only use OEM Aladdin Temp-Rite bases. Advantage bases have “Advantage” on the base bottom or top inner ring to verify it’s the proper one.
- Do #3 - Power down the unit after each meal service is done.
- Note: To conserve energy the unit’s equipped energy savings feature will power down automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Do #4 - Wait to remove the base until the heating cycle finishes. The green ready light and a clear beep will let you know the cycle is completed.
- Do #5 - Clean the unit daily or as needed throughout the shift.
- Do #6 - Refer to the model and serial number on the data plate when calling in for service at 1.800.888.5426.
Operational Don’ts
These tips are what you shouldn’t do with the unit.
- Don’t #1 - Never place an object on top of or inside the centering guide.
- Don’t #2 - Don’t use the unit with a missing or damaged base centering guide.
- Don’t #3 - Refrain from stacking the bases after heating them.
- Don’t #4 - Never heat up bases in the microwave, oven or other cooking equipment besides the Heat on Demand.
- Don’t #5 - Don’t soak or submerge bases in water, even for cleaning.
