How to Use an Antunes Rapid Steamer

Antunes rapid steamers allow operators to cook food quickly without sacrificing color, flavor or nutrients, making them valuable units in fast-paced foodservice settings. If you want to unlock your machine’s versatility and maximize its potential, this guide on how to use an Antunes rapid steamer will help you improve your equipment’s performance and extend its lifespan.

These instructions are for RS-1000 units.

Operating the Machine

  • Step 1. Plug in the unit - Connect the machine to a power source by plugging the power cord into an outlet.
  • Step 2. Press the power button - Turn on the unit by pressing the power button.
  • Step 3. Let the unit warm up until the ready screen displays - Allow the machine to come to temperature. Once this occurs, the ready screen will display.
  • Step 4. Load product into the basket - Pull the basket out of the unit and fill it with product.
  • Step 5. Slide the basket into the unit - Return the basket to the machine.
  • Step 6. Select a cooking style and allow the unit to cook - Use the touchscreen display to select an item from the menu. Allow the steamer to prepare the product as directed.
  • Step 7. Once the unit is done cooking, remove the basket and product - Remove the basket and empty out the product once it’s finished cooking.

Editing Menu Items

  • Step 1. Press the tools icon - Push the gear icon to begin the editing process.
  • Step 2. Press the menu icon - Advance to the next screen by touching the menu icon.
  • Step 3. Press edit menu item - Access the edit menu by pressing the pencil and paper icon.
  • Step 4. Select a food item to edit - Use the touchscreen to select the food item you wish to edit or add a new item to the menu.
  • Step 5. Type out a new name for the item with the onscreen keyboard - Give the item a new name by typing it out on the touchscreen keyboard.
  • Step 6. Press “Return” on the keyword to save the new name - Save the new name by pressing the “Return” key.
  • Step 7. Use the arrows on the screen to set a new cycle time - Program a cycle time by pressing the up arrow to increase the time or the down arrow to decrease the time.
  • Step 8. Press the checkmark to confirm the new cycle time - Save the cycle length by pressing the checkmark to the right of the arrows.
