Notice the unit won’t run or the interior won’t stay cool? Rather than start panicking, try an easy and quick fix to remedy it. These Master-Bilt walk-in cooler or freezer troubleshooting tips will help you get the unit operating and door securely closed so product stays at the perfect temperature.

The following guide works for Master-Bilt walk-in models like the QS Series, Quick Ship, Bilt2Spec™ & Ready-Bilt™ and more.

Not Working or Cooling/Freezing

  • Power cord is unplugged - Plug in the unit.
    • Note: Inspect the power cord first to determine if it’s damaged and needing to be replaced by a technician.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped - Turn on or reset the breaker.
  • Door is left ajar - Securely close the door. This can also occur due to issues with the door closer or gaskets.
  • Condenser is dirty - Clean the condenser
  • Temperature is set too high or low - Use the controller to adjust the temperature setting.
  • Sweep gasket is worn out and creates a gap - Replace or adjust the sweep gasket.
  • Door gasket is dirty or damaged - Clean or replace the gasket
  • Door closer is out of adjustment - Adjust the closer.
