Perlick Refrigerator Unboxing & Installation
There’s nothing more exciting than new equipment getting delivered. However, the instructions may not always be that clear when you’re trying to unpack it. These Perlick refrigerator unboxing and installation instructions can help take the guesswork out of it and avoid damages to the unit. So you can get everything set up and ready to keep drinks, ingredients and more cold.
Unboxing
The refrigerator will arrive packaged and on a pallet. It’ll need to be unpacked before installation can begin.
- Step 1. Unwrap the plastic - Carefully cut the plastic wrapping and strap that secures the box sleeve to the pallet.
- Step 2. Remove the box - Slide off the top box sleeve from the unit and remove all surrounding cardboard packaging.
- Note: Be sure to not damage the box in case the unit needs to be sent back.
- Step 3. Take the unit off the pallet - Have 3 people remove the unit off the bottom cardboard and pallet and onto a dolly.
- Note: Be sure to not damage the bottom piece of cardboard or styrofoam in case the unit needs to be sent back.
Installation
With the unit unpacked, you can now begin the installation.
- Step 4. Bring the unit to install location - Use a dolly to bring the unit to the desired installation site.
- Step 5. Take off the condenser cover - Use a screwdriver to remove the condenser coil cover.
- Note: The unit should arrive with the main power switch in the ON position.
- Step 6. Peel off the plastic - Remove the protective plastic covering from the condenser coil cover and the entire refrigerator exterior.
- Step 7. Remove interior tape - Open the unit door to take the manual out of the unit and set it somewhere safe. Then remove the tape from inside the unit and on the shelves.
- Step 8. Install shelves - Adjust the shelves to your desired height.
- Step 9. Reinstall the condenser cover - Install the condenser coil cover by snapping it into place.
- Note: The cover will no longer need screws to secure it.
- Step 10. Level the unit - Check that the unit is level to the surface with a level. If the unit isn’t level, have 2 people tilt up the front, back or side of the refrigerator so a third person can access the legs. The legs can be twisted to be adjusted until the unit is level.
- Note: The unit needs to be level side to side but can be slightly off level in the front so it’s up higher than the back.
- Step 11. Plug in the unit - Plug the power cord into the appropriate outlet. Don’t turn the unit on for 24 hours.
- Step 12. Power up the unit - After 24 hours, press the power button on the digital controller to turn it on. Wait to load the unit for 24 hours.
- Step 13. Verify unit is working - Once the refrigerator is on, check that the lights and controller are on and functioning.
Repackaging
If the unit arrives damaged or not in working order, it may need to be returned depending on the warranty and the state of the refrigerator. That’s where these Perlick refrigerator repackaging instructions can come in handy to ensure it isn’t further damaged in transit.
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Press the power button on the digital controller to turn it off.
- Step 2. Disconnect the unit - Unplug the refrigerator and secure the power cord using tape and the hole on the bottom of the fridge for the plug’s prongs.
- Step 3. Put away the user guide - Put the manual back inside the unit.
- Step 4. Adjust the legs - Have 2 people tilt the unit up while a third person twists the legs back up to their original position.
- Step 5. Put the unit on the pallet - Have 3 people load the unit back onto the pallet and bottom piece of cardboard by having 2 people lift it and 1 person hold the pallet and cardboard in place.
- Note: Be sure the cardboard bottom is already in place on the pallet before loading the unit.
- Step 6. Secure the components - Use the styrofoam blocks at the bottom of the refrigerator to secure the door and bushings.
- Note: Packaging the unit without the styrofoam can cause additional damages.
- Step 7. Package the unit - Put the cardboard packaging back around the refrigerator.
- Step 8. Cover the packaging - Slide the cardboard sleeve over the unit and secure it to the pallet.
