Air in the jacket of a commercial steam kettle can prevent a unit from reaching operating temperature. Rather than leaving equipment running inefficiently, this can easily be resolved. If you’re unsure  when and the proper procedure for removing air from a Groen steam kettle jacket, this guide is here to help.

When to Remove Air from a Groen Steam Kettle Jacket

Determining when to remove air requires checking the pressure gauge. If it reads more than 30 PSI while the kettle is cold, Groen recommends releasing the air.

How to Remove Air from a Grown Steam Kettle Jacket

  • Step 1. Turn on the gas - Open the main gas valve.
  • Step 2. Power on the unit - Turn the ON/OFF switch to ON.
  • Step 3. Wait - Wait for the pressure gauge to read 5 PSI.
  • Step 4. Vent the unit - Lift the safety valve to vent.
    • Note. Let the lever snap back.
