  • Step 1—Turn the thermostat to the OFF position.
  • Step 2—Turn off the manifold shutoff.
  • Step 3—Open the bottom kickplate.
  • Step 4—Turn the gas valve to PILOT and depress the knob.
  • Step 5—Push in the lighter switch.
  • Step 6—Turn the knob on the safety valve to the ON position.
  • Step 7—Turn on the thermostat.

  • Step 1—Turn the manifold to the OFF position.
  • Step 2—Remove the grate and light the burner.
