Conveyor toasters can make delicious and crunchy breads, but that comes at a cost. Crumbs can get everywhere and conveyor toasters will need some TLC from all that build-up. Below we will walk you through Star vertical contact toaster cleaning instructions so you can properly maintain your unit and have it ready to toast again.
Vertical Contact Toaster Cleaning Instructions
The toaster should be cleaned daily after use to keep it well-maintained.
- Step 1. Turn unit off - Power down the unit by turning it off and unplugging it from any electrical source. Make sure to wait for the toaster to cool down before continuing.
- Step 2. Open covers - Lifting up and pulling away from the unit, remove both the front and back conveyor covers.
- Step 3. Wash conveyor belt - Use a cloth and soapy water to wash the front and back side of the conveyor belt.
- Step 4. Remove PTFE sheet - Remove the PTFE sheet from the unit.
- Step 5. Inspect sheet - Thoroughly inspect the sheet to see if it needs to be cleaned or replaced.
- Step 6. Clean sheet - At a sink, scrub the sheet with a sponge and soapy water. Rinse it with clean water and then dry the sheet.
- Step 7. Rinse and dry conveyor belt - Rinse the conveyor belt with a damp cloth. Use a clean, dry cloth to dry the conveyor belt thoroughly.
- Step 8. Reinstall PTFE sheet - Reinstall the PTFE sheet back into the unit.
- Step 9. Close covers - Close the front and back conveyor covers.
- Step 10. Clean exterior - Using stainless steel cleaner and a cloth, clean the exterior of the unit.
