Undercounter Refrigerator & Freezer Troubleshooting

Is the unit failing to keep product cool or frozen? Or maybe the door simply won’t stay closed. While this may cause concern, you can rest easy. The fix for these issues might be easier than you realize. Try these undercounter refrigerator and freezer troubleshooting tips so you can get the unit up and running again. 

Not Cooling or Freezing

  • Temperature is set too high - Use the controller to adjust the temperature setting.
    • Note: Consult your specific model’s user manual for how to make adjustments. 
  • Door is left open or ajar - Securely close the door. 
  • Door gasket is dirty or damaged - Clean or replace the gasket.
  • Condenser coil is dirty - Clean the condenser coil
  • Compressor is running too long - Contact an authorized service technician. 
  • Unit is unplugged - Verify the power cord isn’t damaged and then plug in the unit.
  • Unit is turned off - Turn on the unit.
  • Circuit breaker is off or tripped - Turn on or reset the breaker. 

Door Not Closing Properly

  • Door was overextended and the self-closing feature is broken - Contact an authorized service technician to repair the hinge. 
  • Door gasket is dirty or damaged - Clean or replace the gasket.
  • Unit isn’t level - Adjust the unit legs or casters so it sits level.
