Gasket Maintenance

The gasket is a vital part for commercial refrigeration. It ensures the door is securely shut so cold air stays trapped inside and product gets kept at the optimal temperature. Some simple cleaning will help keep it closing like it should.

  • Step 1. Inspect the gasket - Check all 4 sides of the gasket for any rips, tears, stiffness or cracks.
    • Note. Any signs of damage means the gasket should be replaced instead of cleaned.
  • Step 2. Wipe down the gasket - Use a cloth dampened with warm water and a mild detergent to clean the gasket.
  • Step 3. Scrub off grease - Remove any grease or stains with a scrub pad soaked in warm water and mild detergent. 
  • Step 4. Rinse the gasket - Rinse and dry the gasket with separate clean clothes.

Gasket Replacement
