Nieco Broiler Shutdown and Start-Up Instructions
In the event that you need to shutdown your Nieco broiler for a prolonged period of time, it’s important to know how to do so properly. Following the correct shutdown and restart procedures ensures that your equipment stays safe and functional. Learn how to shutdown and start-up your Nieco broiler in this easy-to-follow guide.
Nieco Broiler Shutdown Instructions
- Step 1. Allow the broiler to run with no product in it for 10 minutes before turning it off. This allows any residue to burn off the chains.
- Step 2. Turn off the MAIN POWER SWITCH on the broiler.
- Step 3. Close the MAIN GAS VALVE.
- NOTE: Valve is closed when it is perpendicular to the pipe.
- Step 4. Disconnect broiler power plug.
- Step 5. Allow broiler to cool for 30 minutes to begin Disassembly and Cleaning Procedures.
- Step 6. Always leave the ventilation hood on during the 30 minute cool down period.
- Step 7. Clean broiler according to standard Disassembly and Cleaning Procedures.
- Step 8. Allow all parts to air dry after cleaning, then reassemble.

Nieco Broiler Start-Up Instructions
- Step 1. Ensure broiler was cleaned broiler according to standard Disassembly and Cleaning Procedures.
- Step 2. When the broiler is clean, dried and reassembled, place under the ventilation hood, and turn the hood on.
- Step 3. Connect broiler power cord.
- Step 4. Open the MAIN GAS VALVE.
- NOTE: Valve is closed when it is perpendicular to the pipe.
- Step 5. Turn ON the MAIN POWER SWITCH on the broiler.
- Step 6. Follow Broiler’s ignition processes to light broiler.
- Step 7. Allow Broiler to heat for 30-45min.
- Step 8. After the unit has reached temperature, perform cookout to assure products meet proper cookout temperatures.
