Applications are now being accepted for the Small Business Administration Restaurant Revitalization Fund. How much can I receive?

Minimum grant award is $1,000 with a maximum of $5 million per location ($10 million for a single entity).

Is there a deadline for when I need to use the grant funds?

Grant funds must be used by March 11, 2023.

How far back can I use grant funds on eligible expenses?

Recipients can use grant funds for eligible expenses incurred beginning February 15, 2020.

Is there a priority on who receives funding?

The first 21 days of application processing will prioritize businesses owned by women, veterans and socially/economically disadvantaged people. However, all applicants should apply when the application opens. Funds will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Visit www.restaurants.sba.gov/requests/borrower/login/ to sign in or register.

Who is eligible?



  • If your business is a restaurant, food truck/cart, caterer, or bar/lounge with fewer than 20 locations

  • Breweries, taprooms, microbreweries, wineries and distilleries must demonstrate that at least 33% of pre-pandemic gross receipts were on-site sales to the public

  • Applicants or recipients of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans are eligible


Who is ineligible?



  • Recipients of a Shuttered Venues Operators Grant and those with a pending application are ineligible. Owners who did not apply, or were denied, are eligible.

  • Permanently closed and bankrupt businesses without reorganization plans are ineligible

  • Non-profit organizations and publicly-traded companies are ineligible


How do I prepare for the application process? 

Register for an account, starting at 9 a.m. ET on Friday, April 30. Review the program guide and sample application before you gather required documents. The required documents needed include tax identification numbers, banking information, ownership information, PPP loan draw information, gross receipts and documentation of eligible expenses.

What are important times and dates to remember for this program?



  • 2:30 p.m. ET on April 28, 2021 – The SBA is hosting a webinar to go over the program and application

  • 9 a.m. ET on April 30, 2021 – Registration opens through the SBA RRF portal

  • Noon ET on May 3, 2021 – RRF applications open

  • March 11, 2023 – Deadline to use grant funds for eligible expenses
