Sandwiches are a staple for any restaurant menu. They appease all different crowds. Whether it is someone wanting something simple to eat, a picky eater, or an easy grab-and-go option, they are a must-have for any menu. So what are some of the best sandwiches for restaurants?
Italian Subs
Italian subs are a perfect, easy-to-make option for your restaurant. You get a variety of meats to work with like ham, salami, capicola, prosciutto or even pepperoni in some restaurants. They all pair together perfectly with provolone cheese on top. You can then have fun with the veggies by picking from red onions to peppers as long as it’s smothered in oil and vinegar.
Cuban
While the birthplace of this sandwich was actually Tampa and not Cuba, it is still a really good sandwich. A Cubano is usually stacked with ham, pork, swiss cheese and pickles. All topped with Cuban bread smeared with mustard on it. This sandwich is best served warm and makes for a great comfort sandwich.
Reuben
Reubens are a common sandwich on restaurant menus. They have a lot of popularity and thus are a must have. Reubens consist of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing all on rye bread. This combination makes for an excellent sandwich that brings bold flavors to your menu.
Grilled Cheese
Grilled cheese sandwiches are a great opportunity to experiment with unique ideas. While a basic grilled cheese is just bread and cheese, you can try experimenting with all sorts of different breads and cheese combinations. You can also try adding crazy additions like macaroni and cheese onto the sandwich to stand out from other sandwich menus.
Po Boy
Even a seafood restaurant can offer sandwiches with po boys. Po boys add seafood to sandwiches by combining fried seafood like shrimp, fish, crab, or oysters with mayo on french bread. It is definitely a must have for your seafood restaurant’s menu to be able to offer sandwiches.
Pastrami on Rye
Pastrami on rye is another classic like the Rueben, but simpler. The ingredients are literally in the name: pastrami and brown mustard on rye bread. Since it’s delicious and easy to make, it would be a great addition to any restaurant menu.
Chicken Parm
Chicken parmesan may already be on your menu as a dinner option. So it won’t be too difficult to put it between two pieces of bread and offer the sandwich version as well. Sandwiches may not always be filling enough for dinner, but a chicken parm sandwich can be quite filling since it has breaded chicken, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Therefore it is a great sandwich to offer even for a dinner menu.
Cheesesteak
Cheesesteaks leave so much room for imagination when it comes to customizing it with toppings. Typically your base for a cheesesteak is going to be thinly sliced beefsteak on a hoagie roll. From there you can experiment with different cheese and basic add-ons like onions, or get a little wild with it and try peppers, mushrooms or sauces.
Chicken Sandwich
Chicken sandwiches are extremely versatile with how you can serve them. Whether it’s grilled or crispy chicken or regular or spicy chicken, you’re sure to have customers that will enjoy it. Chicken sandwiches work great for all restaurants including fast food drive-thrus since they can be easy and quick to make.
Meatball Subs
Meatball subs make another very satisfying sandwich that’s just as easy to make as the chicken parm. It only requires a few, simple ingredients to make it. The main ingredient of course is meatballs. You’ll want to smother those meatballs between a nice baguette roll and smothered in red sauce. You can then add different cheeses like mozzarella, provolone, or Parmesan, and then sprinkle on some basil to give it a touch of seasoning.
