Last Saturday, the first Cat Cafe in the United States opened its doors!
Cat Town Cafe is located in Oakland, California. The non-profit features food provided by local businesses and a Cat Zone, separated from the food prep area, where customers can interact with animals available for adoption. The Cat Zone is a tribute to Oakland, with climbing structures and murals that depict the layout of the city.
The establishment saw a very successful opening weekend, and homes were found for six of the nine cats in house on the first day.
Cat Cafes are a popular trend in Japan. Could they be establishing a pawhold in the States?
