A Salute to Our Veterans
Parts Town / Parts Town News & Announcements / November 11
Happy Veterans Day! In honor of our nation’s heroes, Parts Town salutes the members of our own team who have served in the armed forces.
PATRICK SEMBACH, TECH SUPPORT. Patrick served four years in the US Navy as a pointer and postal clerk. Stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, he had the opportunity to visit 31 other countries across six continents. Patrick received five decorations in the course of his service, including the Humanitarian Service Medal and the Expeditionary medal.
SCOTT MAKI, TECH SUPPORT. Scott spent two years at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii, working as a helicopter mechanic. He credits his time in the service as instilling in him “…a great sense of duty, organization, determination, and courage…you agree to put your life on the line for your country.” Part of Scott’s responsibility was to ride along in the test flights after performing maintenance on the helicopters, and perhaps we can attribute his attention to detail in his current technical work to that experience.
TONY SANTOS, TECH SUPPORT. Tony served on the USS Nimitz as an Aviation Technician in the United state Navy during the Desert Storm era. In fact, Tony recalls, operation Desert Storm commenced on his 22nd birthday – January 17, 1991. He shares that the famous ship was over a quarter of a mile long and could make a 45 MPH turn and list 30 degrees.
TONY FAJARDO, TECH SUPPORT. (Seeing a pattern yet?) Tony was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas for four years, where he worked in Electronic Warfare. He was responsible for maintaining radar jamming systems on jets, a job that took him to over 20 different states in the union during the course of his service. Tony was presented with the Maintenance Professional of the Year award on multiple occasions, at both the squadron and base level.
GREG JONES, WAREHOUSE. Greg is currently on active duty with Operation Iraqi Freedom, as he has been since December of 2009. As a member of the army reserve, he divides his time between overseas deployment and working at Parts Town. We are grateful for every day he is with us and appreciative of every day he’s away fighting for our country.
Parts Town honors its veterans and active reserve and thanks all veterans for their service to the United States.
