Innovation - Deliciously Informative

/ Restaurant Tips / May 11

In the week leading up to the 2015 National Restaurant Association show, Parts Town is highlighting some of the most innovative ideas we’ve seen from restaurateurs.

Today’s featured restaurant is Taranta in Boston, MA. Chef-owner Jose Duarte understands that restaurant patrons like to have the opportunity to inform themselves about the meal they’re enjoying, and he serves up that information in a delightfully creative way. There is nothing novel, at this point, about the use of QR codes to direct customers to online resources, but Duarte’s codes are unique in that they are drawn on the diners’ plates in squid ink. This makes them not only useful but edible. Duarte and his staff are truly industry innovators!

Catch more great innovations at the NRA Show, May 16-19 at McCormick Place, Chicago!
