Reedy Cares - Ronald McDonald House Charities
John B / Reedy Cares / August 17
Over the past several weeks, Parts Town has been working together with sister company Reedy Equipment Service (RES) to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC is an organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of children.
• Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at non-local hospitals.
• Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer the comforts of home within the hospital itself, so families can rest and regroup just moments away from their child.
• Ronald McDonald Care Mobile takes health care on the road, visiting communities around the globe to provide medical, dental, and health education services.
• The organization also awards grants to other non-profits whose vision aligns with its own.
There are many ways to make a contribution to this wonderful organization. Parts Town and RES have done our part in a way that’s so simple and fun, anyone of any age can participate – pop tab collecting.
We all love our soda pop, and it’s so easy to pull the tabs off empty cans before recycling them. It’s a small thing to do, but it adds up – Parts Town alone has collected over 2,000 tabs so far, and we’ll be collecting tabs for two more weeks.
When the tabs are collected, they are taken to the local RMHC chapter, who drops them off at an area recycling center. There they are weighed to determine their value, and RMHC is sent a check. It may not seem like much, but the organization raises tens of thousands of dollars every year for the benefit of sick children and their families via the pop tab drive.
