The people at Scotsman set out to make an ice machine that produced pure, good-looking ice. The founders of the company had been working on lanterns, heaters, ice chests and a variety of other products for over 20 years.

Using their combined years of experience and knowledge, the engineers at the company created an ice machine that ensured only pure, clear ice was produced. They dubbed it the “Scotsman,” and a new chapter of ice maker history began.

Soon, the company was focused entirely on the production of ice machines. Scotsman ice makers and ice machines were sold around the world – from Europe to America to the Middle East. It became the largest-selling ice machine in the world, and eventually Scotsman Industries became a publicly traded company.

Scotsman Today

Today, Scotsman continues to sell some of the best ice machines available. Scotsman manufactures a wide variety of ice machines, from cubers to flakers to large volume models and even luxury home appliances. Through a variety of partnerships and alliances, Scotsman is also involved in the production of food storage and preparation equipment.

More than 60 years after creating their first ice machine, Scotsman remains an elite name in the food prep equipment world.
