A Southbend Range 3738-9 Probe detects water level changes to maintain safe, reliable function during use.
The probe monitors water level conditions in the steamer and signals the control system to interrupt operation when the water supply drops below a safe point. Its low-level cutoff design is important because accurate sensing and durable construction protect heating components, support safe steaming performance and reduce the risk of damage from low-water operation.
The probe may be wearing out if the steamer shows low-water shutdown errors, inconsistent heating cycles, unexpected interruptions or difficulty maintaining normal steam production. Physical signs can include corrosion, mineral scale buildup or surface damage on the probe and you might notice moisture exposure or harsh water conditions that could accelerate failure.
