Lennox Replacement Contactors

Parts Town offers a well stocked inventory of Trane contactors to ensure you find exactly what you need for proper maintenance and repairs. With effortlessly sourced genuine, OEM parts, you can keep an HVAC system running smoothly and efficiently. Our selection of Trane OEM contactors are made just for the unit, providing the correct flow of electricity safely.

What is an HVAC Contactor?

In an HVAC unit, the contactor acts like a bridge to connect the flow of electricity between your air conditioner’s components, keeping it running. This small component ensures that the electricity has a straightforward direction to go without other aspects of the unit getting in the way and potentially damaged.

How Does an HVAC Contactor Work?

When your AC is turned off, the contactors are up and blocking the electricity from reaching the major components like the condenser, compressor and motors. They then lower to allow the electricity to pass when the unit is on. This ensures that you can save power in the long run and your unit can get a break when not in use.

What are Signs of a Failing HVAC Contactor?

The most common signs of a failing contactor are a melted or charred casing, a chattering or humming noise when the coils come loose and the AC unit not turning on or off. If you notice any of these issues, then it’s time to replace your HVAC contactor.

Can a Faulty Contactor Cause System Issues?

Certainly. If the contractor in the AC unit is defective, it can lead to several complications that can include difficulties starting up, insufficient cooling capacity or constant operation despite turning the thermostat completely off.
