The following article is tailored for the Baxter Proofers like models PW1S, PW2E, RPW1S and more.
Cleaning
Be sure that you are not using any cleaning chemicals that contain grit, abrasive materials, bleach, harsh chemicals or chlorinated cleaners. You also need to avoid using steel wool on stainless steel surfaces and avoid power washing or steaming your proofer. Simple cleaning steps should include:
- Clean the interior - Use a soft cloth and warm soapy water to wipe down the stainless steel interior. Rinse with a clean damp cloth and use a dry one to thoroughly dry the interior.
- Wipe down the exterior - Clean the exterior daily with a damp cloth, wiping with the grain to prevent streaking.
- Clean delicate interior parts - Cleaning the interior probes and sensors is essential, however it is important to be gentle when cleaning these. Be sure not to soak any parts or the interior of the proofer.
Troubleshooting
If you find that your proofer isn’t functioning correctly, check out some of our advice to these problems:
- Proofer not turning on - Check that the proofer is properly plugged into a power outlet and that the outlet has power.
- Proofer won’t heat up - Look at the set temperature and check that it is at the correct temp. If it is set correctly, you will need to contact a local authorized service agent to further look into the problem.
- Air is not humidifying - Check the set humidity and that it is set to your desired level. If the humidity is not the issue, ensure that the water supply to the equipment is turned on.
- Machine will not cool down - Usually when proofers do not cool down, it is from the set temperature. Check that the set temperature is at the right degree. If this is not the problem, then contact a local authorized service agent for further assistance.
