Why Do Mini Splits Need Annual Maintenance?

Much like with traditional forced-air units, mini split systems need regular upkeep. It’s recommended that each unit have an annual cleaning and check by an HVAC professional. This can help prevent early wear, damage from clogged filters and more so your unit will run like new for years to come.

  • Clean the exterior - Using a dry cloth, clean off the exterior of the unit and use a vacuum to keep dust from accumulating.
  • Change the filter - Filter changes are important to rid the unit of any dirt or debris that could be clogging the air flow.
  • Clean the condenser coils - Clean out the condenser coils and check for any mildew or mold buildup.
