Problem: Valves aren’t dispensing syrup

Possible Cause

Solution

Issue with syrup system

Follow steps detailed in the “No syrup or not enough syrup in finished drink” section

Syrup shut-off valve is closed or partially closed

Find the syrup shut-off valve and confirm if it’s open or not. Open if necessary.

Mounting block is restricted

  • Step 1—Remove the dispensing valve from the mounting block.
  • Step 2—Place a cup over the syrup outlet on the mounting block, then carefully open the syrup shut-off valve.
  • Step 3—If no syrup or very little syrup is present, the mounting block is restricted.
  • Step 4—Remove and clean the mounting block, and have replaced if needed.

Problem: No syrup or not enough syrup in finished drink

Possible Cause

Solution

Flow control is out of adjustment or isn’t working correctly

Readjust the flow control to proper brix. If the issue still persists, clean the syrup flow control. Replace if needed.

Valve port is blocked

Clean the syrup valve port assembly

Seat is swollen

Have the syrup seat replaced

Solenoid coil is defective

Have the syrup solenoid coil replaced

Issue with carbonated water system

Check that the system is properly connected, and have inspected by an authorized service agent.

Problem: No carbonated water or not enough carbonated water in finished drink (from only one dispensing valve)

Possible Cause

Solution

Carbonated water shut-off valve is closed or partially closed

Find the carbonated water shut-off valve and confirm if it’s open or not.

Flow control is out of adjustment or not working

Readjust the flow control to proper brix (5oz in 4 sec. standard valve, 10oz in 4 sec. fast flow valve). If the issue still persists, clean the carbonated water flow control. Replace if needed.

Valve port is restricted

Clean the carbonated water valve port assembly

Seat is swollen

Have the carbonated water seat replaced

Solenoid coil is defective

Have the carbonated water solenoid coil replaced

Carbonated water switch is faulty (black)

Have the carbonated water switch replaced

Problem: No water or not enough water in finished drinks (all valves)

Possible Cause

Solution

Water shut-off valve is closed or partially closed

Check the water pressure and have inspected if needed

Problem: No water or not enough water in finished drinks (one valve)

Possible Cause

Solution

Water shut-off valve is closed or partially closed

Refer to the “Problem: No carbonated water or not enough carbonated water in finished drink (from only one dispensing valve)” section

Problem: Too much carbonated water, syrup or water in finished drink at one valve

Possible Cause

Solution

Issue with the carbonated water, syrup or water flow control

Readjust the flow control accordingly:

  • 5oz in 4 sec. standard valve
  • 10oz in 4 sec. fast flow valve

If it’s still not responding, clean the flow control. Have replaced if necessary.

Problem: Syrup, carbonated water or water is dripping from nozzle

Possible Cause

Solution

Damaged valve port

Check for any nicks or damage to the valve port and replace if necessary

Damaged armature spring or retaining ring

Check for any nicks or damage to the armature spring or retaining ring and replace if necessary

Damaged or blocked seat

Check for any nicks or damage to the seat and replace if necessary

Problem: Valve won’t shut off

Possible Cause

Solution

Moisture is present on the portion control timer or contact clips

Remove all moisture from portion control timer and contacts

Adjustment control screw on portion control timer is turned beyond control limit

Turn the adjustment screws on the valve counterclockwise 10 complete turns

Portion control timer is defective

Turn off the dispensing tower and if the valve stops dispensing when it’s turned back on, the portion control timer is defective. Have it replaced.

Selection panel is defective

Turn off the dispensing tower and if the valve is still dispensing when it’s turned back on, the selection panel is defective. Have it replaced.

Problem: Excessive foaming of finished drink

Possible Cause

Solution

Nozzles and syrup tube diffusers are dirty

Clean the nozzle assembly

Drinks are too warm

Check the cooling system and have inspected by an authorized service agent if needed

Medium or low pressure change-over valve is in the wrong position

Check that the medium to low pressure valves are positioned for diet products

Air or CO2 is in syrup line

  • Check that the pressure supplied to sugar base products is at 60 psi (4.2 kg/cm2). Adjust medium pressure regulator if necessary.
  • Check that the pressure supplied to diet product is at 15 psi (1.1 kg/cm2).
  • Adjust low pressure regulator if needed.

Note: Make sure the low pressure supply line has not been switched for a medium pressure supply line on the diet tank

Flake ice has been used in drink

Make sure only cube ice is used for carbonated drinks

Valve is improperly adjusted

Readjust the carbonated flow control (5oz in 4 sec. standard valve, 10oz in 4 sec. fast flow valve). Make sure brix is properly set, and adjust as necessary.

Problem: Unit is inoperative and all switches are on

Possible Cause

Solution

Power to unit is off, a power failure has occurred or the circuit breaker has tripped

Check the circuit breaker and reset if needed. Make sure power is turned on to unit, and examine the time delay. Replace if needed.
