If you see a code displaying on the machine’s screen, don’t worry. Below is a list of common Hobart dishwasher error codes, so you can identify the issue and correct it immediately.
LXi & AM Select Dishwasher Display Codes
Below are common error codes that display on Hobart LXi and AM Select Dishwashers like the AM15, LXiC models and more.
- E0, E2, E3 & E4 – This appears if the machine isn’t filling or filling high enough. When any of these codes display, the unit won’t run. Check out our troubleshooting guide for possible causes.

- E6 – If this code shows up, contact an authorized Hobart service agent for assistance.
- CL/Pr – This displays if the machine is filling too high or leaking from the door. This could be brought on by an unleveled unit, dirty water level probes or leaking from the fill solenoid valve.
- P1, P2 or P3 flashing – If any of these codes flash and a wrench icon lights up, contact an authorized Hobart service agent for assistance.
LXe Dishwasher Display Codes
Below are common error codes that display on Hobart LXe Dishwashers:
- Door Open – This appears when the machine’s door is ajar.
- WASH ARM ALERT – The code displays if the wash arm is obstructed or clogged. Follow the instructions on the screen to resolve the issue.
- LOW RINSE TEMP – If there is low rinse temperature on two second consecutive cycles, this code will appear on the third cycle. The machine will continue running but have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- LOW RINSE TEMP / Check Water Input – If low rinse temperature occurs for 10 consecutive cycles, this error message will display. The machine will continue running but have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- WASH TEMP SENSOR – The error message displays if the wash temperature probe is out of range. The machine will continue running but have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- BOOSTER TEMP SENSOR – This appears if the booster temperature probe is out of range. The machine will continue running but have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- RINSE TEMP SENSOR – The code displays if the rinse temperature probe is out of range. The machine will continue running but have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- FILL ERROR – When the machine times out before it fills completely, this error code appears. Check out our troubleshooting guide for possible causes. The unit will stop running and only power down. Have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- DRAIN ERROR – If the water level in the dishwasher won’t come up, this error displays. The machine will stop running and only power down. Have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- SUMP LEVEL SENSOR – The code displays if the sump pressure switch is out of range. The machine will stop running and only power down. Have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
- BOOSTER LEVEL SENSOR – This appears if the booster pressure switch is out of range. The machine will stop running and only power down. Have it serviced by an authorized service agent.
CL & CLe Series Dishwasher Display Codes
Below are common codes that display on Hobart CL and Cle Series Dishwashers:
- Door(s) Open – This displays if one or both doors are open. Close all inspection doors.
- Clear Conveyor Jam – The code appears if there is a jam. Remove the rack from the machine. Then, press START and rerun the rack.
- Probe Err – TANK – Check if the lower float assembly in the displayed tank isn’t visibly damaged and that the proper amount of water is covering the lower float in the tank.
- Probe Error – FnlRns – Make sure the supply water valve to the rinse booster is open.
Ecomax Dishwasher Display Codes
Below are common codes that display on Hobart Ecomax Dishwashers:
- 01, 02 - This code is an issue with the temperature boiler sensor and requires an authorized Hobart service agent to assist.
- 05, 06 - The temperature tank sensor exceeded or undercut. Contact an authorized Hobart service agent to assist with this issue.
- 07, 08, 09, 10 - The pressure sensor sensed a high or low point. Contact an authorized Hobart service agent to assist with this issue.
- 13 - This error is for the filling program monitor pressure sensor for the tank. Pump out the machine to resolve the issue.
- 14 - The wash tank is draining in the pump out program for the tank pressure sensor. Clean the drain hose and pump out the machine.
- 17, 18, 31 - Check the water supply to help resolve these filling monitoring issues. Contact an authorized Hobart service agent to assist with this issue.
Preventative Maintenance Tips to Minimize Hobart Dishwasher Error Codes
- Daily Filter & Strainer Cleaning - At the end of each day, it’s crucial to remove and clean out the strainers and filters to avoid clogs. Keeping these components clean and clear will prevent any debris from reaching pumps or valves, causing more expensive issues.
- Descale Regularly - Running a descale cycle regularly, especially if you have hard water, will ensure your unit’s water level probes and heating elements function correctly.
- Check the Water Supply/Pressure - Make sure there are no kinks in the hoses and that the water pressure is consistent.
- Keep the Unit Clean & Dry it Overnight - At the end of the day, once the unit is cleaned, make sure to wipe away any remaining moisture and then leave the door propped open to prevent mold from forming in the door gasket or rubber seals.
