Aladdin Temp-Rite Heat On Demand Activator Error Codes

Troubleshooting an Aladdin Temp-Rite Heat on Demand

Power Indicator Light Isn’t On

  • Main power is off - Turn on the main power.
  • Power cord isn’t plugged in - Plug in the unit.
  • Main fuse is blown - Call an authorized service tech.
  • Power outage - Check locally for power outage confirmation. 

Base Doesn’t Heat (ht9 Error Code Not Displayed)

  • Base is positioned incorrectly - Reposition the base so it’s snugly against the alignment fixture.
  • Broken switch - Call an authorized service technician.

Base Doesn’t Finish Heating Up (Error Code: Err)

  • Base is positioned incorrectly - Remove the base and reposition a new base so it’s snugly against the alignment fixture. If the activator still doesn’t work, call an authorized service technician. 

Activator Won’t Run (Error Code: Err)

  • Voltage is incorrect - Have voltage checked.
  • Interrupted power - Reset the unit by turning it off for 10 seconds then back on.
  • Base is positioned incorrectly - Reposition the base so it’s snug.
  • Base is in the pellet guide when the unit is powered up - Remove base from pellet guide prior to initial power up.
  • Broken switch - Have the switch replaced by an authorized service technician. 

“BASE WILL NOT HEAT” LED is Lit

  • Base is too hot so the heating cycle won’t start - Don’t heat the base more than once during a single meal period.

“REMOVED EARLY” LED is Lit

  • Base was removed too soon - Reinsert the base with caution, as it may be hot. 

“ALIGNMENT” LED is Lit

  • Base isn’t properly aligned in the guides - Check the base alignment. 

Activator Stops Suddenly and the Power LED Goes Out

  • Activator has experienced 3 errors consecutively and has powered down - Check that the base isn’t in the centering guide, then turn the unit back on.
  • Power cord is unplugged - Plug in the power cord.
  • Power outage - Check locally for power outage confirmation. Reset the activator by turning it off for 10 seconds then back on. Contact an authorized service technician if the activator still doesn’t work. 

Activator Top is Too Hot (Over 200° F) and Shuts Off

  • Air filter is missing - Replace the filter. 
  • Dirty air filter - Clean the air filter at least once a month.
  • Air flow is blocked - Check for and remove obstructions in the intake and/or rear exit panel.

Activator Suddenly Stops and Won’t Restart

  • Power outage - Check locally for power outage confirmation.

“Ht9” Isn’t Displayed for Correct Cycle Time (~10-19 seconds)

  • Base has been heated within the past hour and is still hot - Use a room temperature base.
  • Previous base was pulled out before the cycle finished - Keep the base in alignment guide for the whole heating cycle. 

“BASE WILL NOT HEAT” LED Immediately Illuminates After Inserting the Base

  • Base has been heated within the past hour and is still hot - Use a room temperature base.
  • Base is no longer usable - Base will need to be replaced. 

Base Temperature is Low (<210° F on Outer Edges 90 Seconds After Activation)

  • Measuring base temperature is in the wrong location - Check the temperature.
  • Measurement device error - Have it checked by an authorized service technician.
