Carter-Hoffmann Chip Warmer Preventative Maintenance

When it comes to preventative maintenance, staying on top of a cleaning routine can make a huge impact in appliance performance. Learn more about the Carter-Hoffmann chip warmer preventative maintenance you need to get done so your unit can stay efficient. 

The following guide is made for the CW1, CW2E and CW4 models. 

Daily Cleaning

  • Step 1 - Turn the power switch to OFF and unplug the warmer. Wait for it to cool down. 
  • Step 2 - Remove any leftover food.
  • Step 3 - Inside the cabinet, remove the bottom two chip covers.
  • Step 4 - Brush any crumbs down into the bottom clean out pan.
  • Step 5 - Slide the chip crumb pan from the bottom of the unit out towards the operator's side of the unit to remove it.  
  • Step 6 - Clean the chip crumb pan, then dry and reinsert it into the unit.
  • Step 7 - Clean, sanitize and then rinse all exposed surfaces with clean water. Make sure no water reaches any electrical areas.
  • Step 8 - Reinsert the bottom chip covers.

Monthly Cleaning

  • Step 1 - Repeat steps 1-5 from the daily cleaning procedures.
  • Step 2 - Remove the heat duct from inside the back of the cabinet by lifting up and towards the front. 
  • Step 3 - Using soap and water, clean the cabinet interior. Make sure to use a bristle brush to clean around the bolts on the back wall.
  • Step 4 - Reinsert the heat duct by placing the 4 holes in the heat duct over the 4 bolts on the inside back of the cabinet and slide the duct down into place. 
  • Step 5 - Replace the chip covers inside the cabinet, then reinsert the crumb pan into the bottom of the cabinet.
