Fetco Coffee Brewer Cleaning

Keeping coffee brewers clean is an essential part of maintaining the flavors of your brews. Without routine preventative maintenance, you risk bitter tastes and dirty cups of coffee. Below we will help you through some Fetco coffee brewer cleaning to ensure that no grounds clog up your baskets and parts stay clean.

The following procedures are designed for Fetco models like the CBS-2131 XTS & XTS, V+ & Extractor series brewers.

After Each Brew

It is important to clean after every brew, however don’t strike or hit the brew basket against a surface. After every brew you should:

  • Dispose the grounds and rinse the basket out
  • Drain coffee from the dispenser and rinse it with hot water

Daily Cleaning

Daily cleaning of the brewer needs to include:

  • Step 1. Wash the brew basket with hot, soapy water
  • Step 2. Remove the cascading spray dome from the spray head
  • Step 3. Clean the top of the spray housing under the dome with hot, soapy water
  • Step 4. Wash any film or debris from the spray dome and reattach it
  • Step 5. Wash the dispensers with hot, soapy water and a brush, then rinse and air dry
  • Step 6. Using a damp, soft cloth, wash the exterior of the unit

Weekly Cleaning

For CBS-2100XTS models, weekly cleaning should be performed with a commercial coffee dispenser cleaner. Make sure to never use spray cleaners, solvent, solvent based cleaner or petroleum based polish anywhere on the dispensers.

For XTS, V+ & Extractor series brewers, water tank cleaning procedures should only be performed by a trained service technician.

Quarterly or Semi-Annual Cleaning

  • Perform all daily cleaning procedures
  • Check hoses and fittings for leaks
  • Check dispense tubes and replace as needed
  • Check interior of tank for lime deposits and de-lime as needed
  • Check hot water faucet seat cup and replace as needed
  • Adjust water temperature as needed
  • Check brew levels and adjust timers as needed
