Server kettles provide hot soups, stews and more for a delicious meal every time. In order to keep your unit running properly, it’s important to clean it the right way. Follow these instructions on how to clean a Server kettle to ensure it’s warming up and providing hot meals with every use. This guide covers cleaning instructions for the KS-7 and KS-11 models.

Supplies

Unit Take-Down

  • Step 1 – Unplug the unit.
  • Step 2 – Remove the inset from the water vessel basin.
  • Step 3 – Empty out the water from the water vessel basin by tipping the unit over to drain out water.

Cleaning a Server Kettle: Instructions

  • Step 4 – Using hot water and dishwashing detergent, clean all washable parts. Don’t use any abrasive cleaners or sponges that can scratch the surfaces of the unit.
  • Step 5 – Fully rinse each part that’s been washed. Leaving any soap behind can cause corrosion.
  • Step 6 – Wipe down the exterior of the unit. Use a damp cloth and a non-toxic glass cleaner.
  • Step 7 – Dry the unit with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Step 8 – Sanitize the unit and all parts following local sanitization requirements. Allow all parts to fully air dry.
