How to Program a Merrychef eikon® Oven

The Merrychef eikon® oven is a multi-use oven that’s perfect for busy commercial kitchens. Thanks to its programmable features, you can pre-set cooking times, temperatures and more on the unit for a simplified experience. The best part is that programming is also simple. Learn how to program, edit and set up cooking programs on the Merrychef eikon® oven in this step-by-step guide.

The following guide is applicable to the following eikon® models: e2, e3 and e4. 

How to Create Cooking Program

• Step 1. From the Start Page, press the chef hat symbol on the touchscreen.
• Step 2. Click the thermometer icon.
• Step 3. Use the keypad on the touchscreen to input the desired cooking temperature.
• Step 4. Press the green checkmark to save the temperature. 
• Step 5. Press the clock icon. 
• Step 6. Use the keypad on the touchscreen to input the desired cooking time.
• Step 7. Press the green checkmark to save the cook time.
•  Step 8. Press the fan icon.
• Step 9. Use the keypad on the touchscreen to input the desired fan speed.
• Step 10. Press the green checkmark to save the fan speed.
• Step 11. Press the microwave icon.
• Step 12. Use the keypad on the touchscreen to input the desired microwave power.
• Step 13. Press the green checkmark to save the microwave power.
• Step 14. Press the information icon.
  • Note: Steps 14-16 are optional. 
• Step 15. Input any needed information for the cook mode using the keyboard on the touchscreen. 
• Step 16. Press the green checkmark to confirm. 
• Step 17. Press the green checkmark again to save all inputted cook mode settings. 
• Step 18. Press the cookbook with a save icon on the touchscreen to save the program.
• Step 19. Press the camera with a pencil icon.
• Step 20. Select an image icon to represent the cooking program.
• Step 21. Use the keyboard on the touchscreen to enter a name for the cooking program. 

• Step 22. Press the green checkmark to finish creating the program.

How to Test a Cooking Program

• Step 1. Begin by selecting the “green diamond” icon on the bottom right of the screen.
• Step 2. Input the product into the oven, then select the green checkmark to confirm.
• Step 3. Once you’ve confirmed, a timer will count down. An alarm will sound once the cooking program has completed.
• Step 4. If you need to make any adjustments to the cooking program, select the arrow icon on the bottom left of the screen to return to the manual cooking page.

How to Save a Cooking Program to the Cookbook

• Step 1. If the cooking program you’ve set up works to your liking, you can go ahead and save it by pressing the “save program” icon. Type in the name of the program you wish to save, and add a picture if necessary.
• Step 2. Press the green checkmark to confirm the save and add the program to the cookbook.

How to Create a Cooking Program with Multiple Steps

• Step 1. Select the manual cooking mode (chef’s hat icon) on the Start page
• Step 2. Input the temperature, cooking time, fan speed and microwave power to what you need for the first step. Follow the instructions on how to create a cooking program above.
• Step 3. When all of the necessary settings have been selected, press the “add next step” arrow on the bottom left corner of the screen.
• Step 4. Repeat the previous step until all of the cooking steps have been set. Remember to add another step by pressing the “add next step” arrow.
• Step 5. Once you’ve set up each step, press the green checkmark icon to confirm.
• Step 6. If everything looks good, press the “save program” icon, and type in the name of the program and add a picture if necessary.

How to Edit a Cooking Program

• Step 1. Tap the cookbook icon on the Start page.
• Step 2. Select the all programs at the top of the screen.
• Step 3. On the bottom left side of the screen, press the “edit” icon.
• Step 4. Find the cooking program you wish to edit by using the up and down arrows to scroll through the options. Once you find it, select the cooking program and then tap the “edit” icon.
• Step 5. On the cooking program, adjust any of the settings that need to be changed. If your cooking program has multiple steps, scroll through each step by using the arrows on the bottom right of the program screen.
• Step 6. Once all changes have been made, press the green checkmark.
• Step 7. Save your changes by pressing the “save program” icon on the bottom right of the screen.
• Step 8. If applicable, change the name and the image for the cooking program, and click the green checkmark icon to save.

How to Create & Edit a Program Group

• Step 1. First, tap the “cookbook” icon on the Start page.
• Step 2. Next, tap the “program group” icon.
• Step 3. Seect the “edit” icon (open book with pencil) at the bottom of the screen.
• Step 4. Press the “add group” icon (page with a plus sign) and enter the name and picture (if applicable). Then press the green checkmark to save the program group.
• Step 5. To edit a program group, select the “edit” icon at the bottom of the cookbook page.
• Step 6. Find the program group you want to edit and select it.
• Step 7. Press the “edit” icon (page with a pencil) and make changes as needed. Press the green checkmark to confirm and save changes.
