Dirty dishes can pile up and be a huge hindrance on kitchen productivity when dishmachines are malfunctioning. That’s where we come in. With our Jackson TempStar troubleshooting guide, we can help you handle the problem and resolve it quickly. Dishes will be back to being cleaned and sanitized, so the kitchen can keep moving.  

Machine Won’t Fill After Door is Closed, Power “ON” Light Lit

  • Faulty rinse solenoid valve - Contact an authorized service agent to help repair or replace the valve.
  • Faulty door switch - Contact an authorized service agent to help repair or replace the valve.
  • Faulty high-level probe - Clean the probe if it’s dirty. If cleaning doesn’t help, contact an authorized service agent to assist.  

Machine Won’t Fill After Door is Closed, Power “ON” Light isn’t Lit

  • Electric breaker tripped - Reset the breaker.
  • Machine not connected to power - Check that the unit is properly connected to a working power source. 
  • Faulty power source - Contact an authorized service agent to help.

 

Machine Won’t Fill After Door is Closed, Power “ON” Light Lit and is Filling

  • Unit in delime mode - Change the mode switch to “AUTO”
  • Time motor faulty - Verify the timer is rotating. If not, verify the motor is receiving power. If so, the motor will need to be replaced. 
  • Cam timer obstructed - Remove the obstruction. 

Wash or Rinse Heater Doesn’t Work

  • Faulty heater element - Check the element for continuity. If it’s open it needs to be replaced by an authorized service agent. 
  • Faulty heater contactor - Contact an authorized service agent to replace the contactor.
  • Faulty thermostat - Check the thermostat’s settings and operation, and replace as needed. Contact an authorized service agent to help with these repairs. 

Machine Fills Slowly/Rinse is Weak

  • Rinse arms are clogged/blocked - Remove and clean the rinse arms. 
  • Low incoming water pressure - Adjust the water pressure regulator to ensure there is 10 ± 2 PSI flow. 
  • Y-strainer is clogged - Clean the Y-strainer to remove blockages. 

Rinse Water Not Reaching Temperature

  • Faulty rinse heater - Check the element for continuity. If it’s open the heater needs to be replaced by an authorized service agent.
  • Mis-adjusted/faulty thermostat - Check the thermostat’s settings and operation, and replace as needed. Contact an authorized service agent to help with these repairs.
  • Rinse thermometer is defective - Contact an authorized service agent to replace the rinse thermometer. 

Machine Doesn’t Drain When Power Switch Flipped is "OFF"

  • Drain is clogged - Remove the blockage from the drain.
  • Standpipe not removed before draining - Remove the standpipe and run the drain cycle again.

Incorrect Water Pressure Displayed During Fill or Rinse Modes

  • Water is turned off - Turn the water on 

Wash Water Not Reaching Temperature

  • Faulty wash heater - Check the element for continuity. If it’s open the heater needs to be replaced by an authorized service agent.
  • Mis-adjusted/faulty thermostat - Check the thermostat’s settings and operation, and replace as needed. Contact an authorized service agent to help with these repairs.
  • Wash thermometer is defective - Contact an authorized service agent to replace the wash thermometer. 

Door won’t Close Completely

  • Improper spring tension - Adjust spring tension by loosening (not removing) the spring bolt nuts and adjusting the tension. Tighten the nuts back once you’re done. 
  • Door channel blocked - Remove the obstruction from the channel.
  • Door panels aren’t square with frame - Adjust the frame to accommodate the door panels. 

Water Leaking at Wash Pump

  • Defective wash pump seal - replace the wash pump seal. 
  • Petcock or pump drain not shut/tight - Close or tighten as needed. 
  • Loose hoses on wash pump - Tighten the hose clamps. 

Unit Won’t Rinse During Autocycle

  • Defective rinse solenoid - Contact an authorized service technician to repair or replace the rinse solenoid as required.
  • Faulty timer - Replace the timer as needed. 
  • Machine not getting water - Verify there is water at 10 ± 2 PSI connected to the machine. 

Dishes Aren’t Coming Clean

  • Temperatures don’t meet requirements - Contact an authorized service technician to help verify required temperatures.
  • No detergent/too much detergent - Adjust detergent concentration required for water levels.
