In a perfect world, the beer would never run dry and there would be no need for a Lancer beer dispenser troubleshooting guide. However, even the most resourceful and diligent employee with the highest-end equipment will run into a few hiccups from time to time.

Either someone accidentally bumps the power cord, a customer complains their beer is too warm or you name it. Even worse is when something goes wrong in the middle of a shift and you have no idea how to fix it. So if you’re reading this in a panic, don’t worry. We’ll get you on your way shortly with a question-answer format that’s addressed clearly and succinctly.

Undercounter Beer Dispenser Troubleshooting 

For those undercounter units, try these troubleshooting tips if you’re having trouble with dispensing your beer: 

Beer Too Foamy

Problem

Solution

Beer not cold enough 

Let keg chill for at least 12 hours 

Tap not fully open 

Open tap handle all the way 

Beer poured incorrectly 

Pour beer according to manufacturer’s “pouring ritual

Dirty or warm glass

Clean or chill glass

Pressure too high 

Turn pressure regulator knob down until pressure is within 18-24 PSI 

Partially blocked beer tubing

Clear obstruction or untangle tubing. If problem persists, change keg

First pour 

It’s normal for first glass to have more foam than usual 

Beer Not Foamy

Problem

Solution

Beer poured incorrectly

Pour beer according to manufacturer’s “pouring ritual”

Pressure too low 

Turn pressure regulator knob up until pressure is 21 PSI

Beer Dispensing Too Fast

Problem

Solution

Pressure too high 

Turn pressure regulator knob down until pressure is within 18-24 PSI 

Beer Not Dispensing

Problem

Solution 

Unit unplugged 

Plug in power cord 

Disconnected or obstructed beer tubing

Check that right beer tubing/keg connector fitting is installed, beer tubing valve is closed and line is free of kinks and obstructions. If problem persists, replace keg

Disconnected or obstructed airline

Check that right air line/keg connector fitting is installed, valves are in the correct position and line is free of kinks and obstructions

Empty keg

Replace keg

Frozen beer tubing due to incorrectly positioned temperature probe

Turn off dispenser, open door and call an authorized service technician 

Pressure too low 

Turn pressure regulator knob up until pressure is 21 PSI

Damaged keg

Replace keg

Dispenser failure

Please call an authorized service technician 

Beer Leaking

Problem

Solution

Incorrectly connected keg

Align beer and air needles to reconnect keg, pushing handle down until it locks 

Incorrectly fitted keg connector and/or beer tubing

Reconnect keg connector and/or beer tubing

Open tap 

Close tap. If problem persists, disconnect keg and call an authorized service technician

Damaged keg

Replace keg 

Beer Too Warm

Problem

Warm keg

Let keg chill for at least 12 hours 

Open cabinet door

Clear any obstructions from door and ensure keg connectors are firmly attached on top rack

Faulty temperature controller

If controller reads “E1,” please call an authorized service technician 

Dispenser cooling failure 

Please call an authorized service technician 

Cabinet Not Locking

Problem

Solution

Incorrectly loaded kegs

Load kegs on top shelf so they’re touching back wall

Disconnected kegs

Align beer and air needles to reconnect keg, pushing handle down until it locks 

 Air line and/or beer tubing obstructing door locking mechanism 

Reposition air line and/or beer tubing out of way of door

Beer Dispenser Making Buzzing Noise

Problem

Solution

Normal air compressor noises 

Air compressor runs intermittently, turning on when pressure drops below 72 PSI and turning off when pressure reaches 101 PSI

Beer Dispenser Not Moving

Solution

Caster brakes are engaged
