Winco Cotton Candy Machine Cleaning Instructions
Winco cotton candy machines have the output capacity and build quality needed for busy commercial environments. Given the demands placed on these units, proper care is essential. These directions are for CCM-28 countertop and CCM-28M cart units.
Supplies
- Warm Water

Maintain your unit daily to minimize the risk of food contamination. Don’t submerge the unit in water or use a high-pressure jet, as these can damage the equipment. Also, avoid placing small parts, such as the floss pan or spinner head components, in the dishwasher, as this can cause damage.
Pre-Cleaning Procedure
- Step 1. Power down the unit - Turn the Power and Heat switches to the off position.
- Step 2. Unplug the machine - Pull the power cord out of the outlet.
- Step 3. Wait for the unit to cool down - Allow the machine to cool down for about 15 minutes before continuing.
Maintaining the Floss Pan
- Step 1. Wipe the floss pan - Remove hardened sugar by cleaning the candy bowl with a damp cloth and sanitizer.
- Step 2. Rinse the candy bowl - Use warm water and a soft cloth to wipe away any remaining sanitizer or other residue.
- Step 3. Dry the bowl surfaces - Soak up excess moisture with a clean cloth.
- Step 4. Polish the floss pan - Apply stainless steel cleaner to the floss pan surfaces. Follow the manufacturer’s directions regarding application method, dwell time and rinse requirements.
Degreasing the Floss Spinner
- Step 1. Apply the degreaser - Use a food-grade degreaser on the floss spinner. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application method and contact time.
- Step 2. Wipe off the degreaser - Use a damp cloth to remove any remaining degreaser from the spinner.
- Step 3. Spin the head - Press the Power button (leave the Heat button off) and let the spinner run for 30–60 seconds to help clear out any residue.
- Step 4. Rinse the spinner - Pour about 1OZ/28.5ML of clean water into the center of the spinner while it’s still running. Let it run for another 30–60 seconds, then power down the unit.
- Step 5. Dry the spinner - Use a clean cloth to wipe away the water collected in the pan or on the head.
Wiping the Lower Body
- Step 1. Wash the body - Use warm water and a soft cloth to clean the outside of the machine, removing sugar residue and dust particles.
- Step 2. Rinse the body - Wash off any remaining suds or particles with warm water and a clean cloth.
- Step 3. Dry the body - Wipe away any remaining moisture with a soft cloth.
Resuming Normal Use
- Step 1. Plug in the machine - Connect the unit to power by plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet.
- Step 2. Power on the unit - Turn the Power and Heat switches to the on position.
- Step 3. Allow the machine to heat up - Let the unit heat up for 10-15 minutes before use.
- Step 4. Use the unit normally - You may now resume normal operation of the machine.
