Not Starting 

When your Electrolux dryer doesn’t start, it’s typically a problem with the electronics. Troubleshoot your dryer back into working condition with these simple fixes:

Not Drying

If your dryer is not drying your clothes properly, there may be an innocent reason not related to the electronics or mechanics. Try these Electrolux troubleshooting tips before moving on to the next section.

Load size is too large

Redistribute or reduce load size 

Wrong drying program

Select the drying program that corresponds to the washing instructions on your clothing labels

Dryer settings are too low 

Adjust the temperature, time, moisture or humidity settings 

Laundry load is not sorted 

Sort laundry based on fabric type and thickness

Fluff filter is too full 

Clean out the fluff filter on the back lower side of the unit behind the door and heat exchanger

Dirty condenser 

Clean the condenser

Dirty drum ribs and drum

Clean the drum ribs and drum with vinegar (2011 models)

Dirty moisture measuring sticks

Clean the moisture measuring strips with vinegar (2011 models) 

Blocked or bent air exhaust hose

Clean or unbend the air exhaust hose

Ambient temperature too low or high

Ensure ambient temperature is between 40-95℉ (5-35℃)

Dryer not plugged in 

Plug in the power cord

Not Getting Hot

It could be that your dryer is not drying because it’s not getting hot in the first place. You can check this by simply running a 120-minute cycle with an empty drum. After an hour, open the door and carefully touch-test the inside wall. Is it warm to the touch? If it’s not, this might indicate a more significant issue. Try these Electrolux dryer troubleshooting tips to see if you can’t solve the problem:

Fluff filter is too full

Clean out the fluff filter on the back lower side of the unit behind the door and heat exchanger

Moisture buildup in dryer

Leave the door ajar when not in use

New dryer

Taking Too Long to Dry 

It’s frustrating when, after an hour or hour and a half cycle, your clothes don’t come out completely dry. There’s usually a simple explanation for it that doesn’t require a call to a service company.

Humidity is too high 

Run a dehumidifier 

Electric dryer is hooked up to 208-volt outlets

Drying takes 20% longer than dryers hooked up to 240-volt outlets

It’s a heat pump dryer 

Heat pump dryers take longer to dry

Clogged exterior exhaust hood or duct 

Clear blockage

Lint filter is too full 

Remove lint 

Improperly installed exhaust ducts

Excessive Moisture 

It sounds counterintuitive that a dryer would stay wet after a program. However, this can happen if the machine is not working properly, components have gotten dirty or weren’t installed properly or even if certain settings were selected. How Do I Reset My Electrolux Dryer?

Resetting your Electrolux dryer simply involves unplugging the unit and waiting 3 minutes before plugging it back in again. Did that solve the problem? If not, please contact an authorized service technician who can help remedy the issue.

How Do I Factory Reset My Electrolux Dryer?

Certain circumstances require a factory reset on your Electrolux dryer. For instance, the dryer’s LED displays “dn” and is repeating a demo cycle. Luckily, it’s as easy as pressing and holding the “dryness” and “options” buttons simultaneously until you hear the signal sound.
