Jet Tech Dishwasher Cleaning & Maintenance

This guide contains cleaning instructions for high-temp dishwasher models, such as the F-18DP undercounter and F-22 door-type models.
Supplies
- Warm Water
- Deep Sink
- Mild Detergent
- Clean Cloths
- Screwdriver
- Descaling Chemical
Never use abrasive materials like steel wool or harsh chemicals such as bleach since doing so can damage the unit. Be sure to drain the unit at least once a day or whenever the water is dirty. The dishwasher should be emptied, drained, cleaned and aired out at the end of each day, too.
Cleaning Instructions
Pre-Cleaning Procedure
- Step 1. Turn off the dishwasher - Push the power switch to turn the unit off.
- Step 2. Unplug the unit - To avoid electrical hazards, unplug the unit before continuing with the cleaning procedure.
- Step 3. Allow the dishwasher to cool down (if necessary) - If the unit is still warm from a recent wash cycle, give the unit at least 10-15 minutes to cool down before proceeding.
- Step 4. Empty the dishwasher racks and basket - Remove all dishes, glasses and cutlery from the unit.
Daily Interior Cleaning
- Step 1. Wash the interior - Clean the dishwasher interior, including the rack and basket, with warm water, mild detergent and a clean cloth.
- Step 2. Rinse the interior - Use warm water and clean cloth to wipe away any remaining food residues or soap suds.
- Step 3. Drain the wash tank - Remove the overflow tube and allow the water to drain out of the wash tank.
- Step 4. Remove the screens - Take out the scrap, water pump and any other screens.
- Step 5. Clean the screens - Use a faucet to run warm water through the screens in order to dislodge any particles.
- Step 6. Clean the wash tank - Wipe the wash tank with warm water, mild detergent and a clean cloth.
- Step 7. Rinse the wash tank - Use warm water and a clean cloth to wipe away any remaining particles, residues or suds.
- Step 8. Dry the screens - Use a clean cloth to dry the screens.
- Step 9. Reinstall the screens - Return the screens to their proper place in the unit.
Daily Exterior Cleaning
- Step 1. Wash the exterior - Clean the stainless steel exterior with warm water, mild detergent and a clean cloth. Be sure to wipe in the direction of the grain to avoid dulling or scratching the surface.
- Step 2. Rinse the exterior - Wash away any remaining food debris, dust particles or soap suds with warm water and a soft cloth.
- Step 3. Dry the exterior - Wipe away any remaining water droplets with a clean, dry cloth.
- Step 4. Clean the surrounding area - Use warm water, mild detergent and a clean cloth to clean the area around the dishwasher as well. Be sure to rinse and dry after cleaning.
Weekly Cleaning
- Step 1. Take out the wash arms - Remove the wash arms from the unit.
- Step 2. Clean the wash arms and jets - Hold the wash arms and jets under running water in order to dislodge any food debris or other particles.
- Step 3. Dry the wash arms and jets - Use a clean cloth to remove excess moisture from the wash arms and jets.
- Step 4. Inspect the chemical pump - After making sure the dishwasher is turned off, use a screwdriver to open the front panel and check the chemical pump for broken tubes. If necessary, call an authorized technician to service the unit.
- Step 5. Reinstall the warm arms - Return the warm arms to the unit.

Readying the Dishwasher For Use
- Step 1. Check chemical levels - Make sure the detergent and rinse-aid containers are filled to the proper level. If they aren’t, add chemicals.
- Step 2. Plug in the unit - Restore power to the unit by plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet.
- Step 3. Air out the dishwasher - Open the door so air can circulate through the unit overnight, reducing the growth of bacteria in your unit.
