Not Dispensing
If your smoothies or frappes resemble watered-down versions of their former glory, try these Multiplex blend-in-cup troubleshooting pointers:
- CO2 pressure is too low - If your Multiplex blend-in-cup is not dispensing properly, it might be a matter of a low CO2 canister. You can resolve the problem by replacing the canister. If it’s still not working, double-check that the lines are open and the regulator is set at 35 psi. The CO2 shutoff valve should be in the cabinet below the sink and the other next to the beverage rack.
- Product is empty – Select the inventory icon on the main menu and check the status of the product lines. Here, it will tell you if any need to be replaced.
- Product bag is pinched – It could be that the product bag was pinched in a way that no product can flow into the connector. Readjust the bag so that there are no pinched or buckled areas.
- Product is frozen – It might be that not enough time was allowed for the product bag to dethaw after taking it out of the freezer. Wait 48 hours before loading the new product into the cabinet.
- No water supply or low water pressure – Ensure the water supply is turned on and the plain or chilled water supply regulator is set between 65-90 psi.
- Product is not installed or installed incorrectly - It might be that there are no product bags installed or that they were installed incorrectly. Check each bag to ensure the connector (without the cap) is correctly positioned in the tray and coupled with the product inlet tubes.
- Product line blocked - Sometimes, if you can’t coax your beverage out of the dispenser, it’s because there’s a blockage in the product line. Check the line and follow the steps as outlined below if you notice a blockage.
- Ice not dispensing - If the ice is not dispensing, follow the procedures as outlined in the section below.
How to Clear a Blocked Line
A blocked product line can cause dispensing problems in your Multiplex blend-in-cup. Follow the steps below to clear the blockage and get to churning out your favorite slushies, shakes, smoothies and frappes.
- Step 1. Add warm water to a squirt bottle – First, you’ll want to grab a squirt bottle and fill it with warm water.
- Step 2. Remove the product bin – Next, remove the product bin from the cabinet so you can attach the squirt bottle to the product inlet tube with vinyl tubing.
- Step 3. Press the inventory icon and the product line – On the main menu, hit the inventory icon. This will take you to a screen showing product levels in all your lines. Select the one with the blockage.
- Step 4. Press the green arrow two times – Without following the product replacement instructions, hit the green arrow two times in a row.
- Step 5. Choose Prime Flavor – From there, select the middle icon labeled “Prime Flavor” and place a cup under the dispenser to catch the water you’ll push through the line with the squirt bottle.
- Step 6. Choose Hold to Prime – Press the Hold to Prime icon while squeezing the squirt bottle. Product should enter the fill cup.
- Step 7. Repeat step 6 – Repeat step 6 until the blockage clears.
- Step 8. Return the product bin – Detach the squirt bottle from the vinyl tubing and product inlet tube and return the product bin to the cabinet.
- Step 9. Choose Hold to Prime – Afterward, check that the product bin was reattached correctly and the blockage is cleared by pressing the Hold to Prime button. Product should dispense into the cup.
- Step 10. Press the green arrow – Once you’ve verified your Multiplex BIC machine is dispensing properly again, press the green arrow to exit.
