Why does the espresso machine only dispense water?
If you find that the grinder is working fine, but the unit is only brewing water and no grounds, then that means the coffee funnel is blocked by grounds. Follow these steps to fix it:
- Remove the brew cup and use a spoon handle to clear out the blockage in the coffee funnel.
- If your unit doesn’t have a pre-ground cup, insert the spoon handle into the machine from below.
Why does the espresso machine water the drink down?
- Brew group is clogged or ungreased - Rinse the brew group with fresh water and grease the brew group according to the instructions in the manual.
- The coffee funnel is clogged - Take out the brew group and clean the funnel.
How Do I Reset a Saeco Espresso Machine?
Resetting a Saeco espresso machine can help with problems removing the brew group or inserting the brew group. To reset a Saeco espresso machine:
- Step 1. Close the service door
- Step 2. Switch the machine off
- Step 3. Unplug the unit and wait 30 seconds

What do Saeco error Codes 1, 3, 4, 5 or 14 mean?
Error Code E01

- Fix - Rinse the brew group, grease it as mentioned in the maintenance manual and ensure it’s properly locked in place when put back. Then turn the unit off and back on to clear the code.
Error Code E05
- Problem - This code can have many causes.
- Fix - It’s best practice to contact a service tech to diagnose the issue.
Error Code E14
- Problem - The machine is overheated.
- Fix - Turn off the unit and wait at least 60 minutes before turning it back on.
