Grinder is working, but the machine only dispenses water
If you find that the grinder is working fine, but the unit is only brewing water and no grounds, then that means the coffee funnel is blocked by grounds. Follow these steps to fix it:
- Remove the brew cup and use a spoon handle to clear out the blockage in the coffee funnel.
- If your unit doesn’t have a pre-ground cup, insert the spoon handle into the machine from below.
Error Code 1, 3, 4, 5 or 14 appears
- Error Code E01 - The coffee funnel is blocked. Remove the brew cup and use a spoon handle to clear the blockage.
- Error Code E03 - The brew group is clogged or hasn’t been greased properly. Rinse the brew group and grease it accordingly.
- Error Code E04 - The brew group is clogged, not greased properly or is not locked in position. Rinse the brew group, grease it as mentioned in the maintenance manual and ensure it’s properly locked in place when put back. Then turn the unit off and back on to clear the code.
- Error Code E05 - This code can have many causes. It’s best practice to contact a service tech to diagnose the issue.
- Error Code E14 - The machine is overheated. Turn off the unit and wait at least 60 minutes before turning it back on.
The espresso machine waters the drink down
- Brew group is clogged or ungreased - Rinse the brew group with fresh water and grease the brew group according to the instructions in the manual.
- The coffee funnel is clogged - Take out the brew group and clean the funnel.
