SaniServ Soft Serve Machine Sanitizing Instructions

SaniServ Soft Serve Machine Sanitizing Instructions

Proper sanitation is critical to maintaining food safety, protecting equipment performance and ensuring consistent soft serve quality. SaniServ soft serve machines are designed for reliability, but like any commercial foodservice equipment, they require routine sanitizing to meet health codes and prevent product contamination. In this guide, we’ll walk through SaniServ soft serve machine sanitizing instructions, helping you stay compliant and keep operations running smoothly.

Sanitizing Supplies

How Do I Sanitize a SaniServ Soft Serve Machine?

  • Step 1. Put on safety gear and wash hands - Wear eye protection and thoroughly wash your hands using an antibacterial soap before starting.
  • Step 2. Prepare sanitizing solution - Mix 2 to 3 gallons of sanitizing solution equivalent to 200 ppm chlorine residual (follow local health regulations as required).
  • Step 3. Add solution to machine - Carefully pour the sanitizing solution into the mix pan.
  • Step 4. Sanitize surfaces with brush - Using a clean, sanitary brush, apply the solution to all interior surfaces of the mix pan sides, as well as the top and underside of the lid. Some units may require you to brush the mix out probe as well.
  • Step 5. Run clean cycle - Set the control switch to the “CLEANOUT” position and allow the unit to agitate the solution for about 3 to 5 minutes.
    • Note: Don’t set the control switch to “AUTO” during this step, as this can freeze the sanitizing solution and potentially damage the machine.
  • Step 6. Turn unit off and drain - Set the control switch to the “OFF” position and drain the solution from the machine.
