Wilbur Curtis Cappuccino Machine Programming Instructions
Whether you need to adjust the temperature or powder ratio, the Wilbur Curtis Primo Cappuccino machine allows you to program multiple settings for the perfect pour every time. If you’re unsure of how to program your unit, check out our guide below to learn how to properly do it.
This guide is applicable for the Primo Cappuccino espresso machine series including models PCGT3, PCGT3700, PCGT3800, PCGT3900, PCGT3DV, PCGT3300, PCGT4300, PCGT5300 and PCGT6300.
Enter Programming Mode
- Step 1—Turn on the unit.
- Step 2—Press and hold the STOP/WASH button for 10 seconds. The display will show ”Washing…Select Station” while pressing the button, then “Program Menus” will appear
- Step 3—Use the left and right arrow buttons to select which setting you wish to program. To confirm your selection, press the SELECT or ENTER button (indicated by a circular symbol).
Programming Options
Manual Dispense
This is the default mode for most Wilbur Curtis Primo Cappuccino units, with the exception of the Pre-Set Dispense models. After you’ve entered Programming Mode and selected “Manual Dispense,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Press the PUSH button for the specific station you want to program.
- Step 2—Once programmed, the display will read “Saving Complete!”, then will return you to the programming menu.
- Step 3—Repeat Steps 1-2 to program any additional stations, or press the right arrow button to go to the next menu.
Dispense By Time
This setting allows the unit to dispense the amount of product by time instead of holding the dispense button. After you’ve entered Programming Mode and selected “Dispense By Time,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Place a cup underneath the station you’re programming.
- Step 2—When the display reads “To Begin Push PUSH,” press the desired PUSH button for that station. Hot water will begin to dispense.
- Step 3—As the hot water dispenses, the display will read, “To Finish Push PUSH.” Once the desired volume has been dispensed, press the PUSH button again to stop dispensing. The display will return to the programming menu.
- Step 4—Repeat Steps 1-3 to program any additional stations, or press the right arrow button to go to the next menu.
Temperature
This is the setting for the tank temperature, which ranges from 80°F - 204°F (27°C - 96°C). The recommended temperature is 190°F (88°C) with the exception of iced coffee units, which is 96°F (35°C). After you’ve entered Programming Mode and selected “Temperature,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Use the left and right arrows to select your desired temperature.
- Step 2—Press the SELECT or ENTER button (indicated by a circular symbol) to set the temperature and exit the program.
Powder % Ratio
This adjusts the strength of the drink by changing the powder-to-water mix. The ratio ranges from 0% to 100% in 5% increments. The default powder ration is 60%. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Powder % Ratio,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Press the PUSH button for the station you want to program.
- Step 2—Use the left and right arrows to adjust the percentage.
- Step 3—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to save.
- Step 4—Repeat for other stations, or press the right arrow button to go to the next menu.
Service Call
This feature lets you store a phone number that will appear on the display if there’s an issue with your Primo unit. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Service Call,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Use the left and right arrow buttons to select the position of the digit.
- Step 2—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to change the digit.
- Step 3—Continue adjusting all digits.
- Step 4—When finished, select “EX” to exit and return to the menu.
Banner Name
This allows you to customize the banner message displayed on the unit. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Banner Name,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Use the left and right arrow buttons to move to the character you want to edit.
- Step 2—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to cycle through available characters.
- Step 3—Repeat for each character.
- Step 4—When complete, select “EX” to save and return to the menu.
Dispense Odometer
This tracks the number of dispense cycles for each station and can be reset. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Dispense Odom,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—View the count for each station.
- Step 2—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to reset the counter or press the left arrow to skip resetting.
- Step 3—Press the right arrow to continue to the next menu.
Dispense Total
This shows the total number of dispense cycles for the entire unit. The dispense total number cannot be reset.
- Step 1—View the total dispense count.
- Step 2—Press the right arrow button to continue to the next menu.
Language
This setting lets you change the display language. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Language,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Use the left and right arrows to scroll through available languages.
- Step 2—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to save the chosen language and continue.
Valve Calibrate
This feature calibrates the water valve flow rate by running a timed dispense cycle. After entering Programming Mode and selecting “Valve Calibrate,” follow these steps:
- Step 1—Place a container under the dispense head.
- Step 2—Press the PUSH button for the station being calibrated. Water will dispense for 10 seconds.
- Step 3—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to return to the menu or repeat for another station.
Model Select
Used to verify or change the unit’s programmed model.
- Step 1—Use the left and right arrows to scroll through available models until the correct one is displayed.
- Step 2—Press SELECT (circular symbol) to save the model and return to the menu.
