Preparing for Use
- Step 1. Find a suitable location - Place the machine on a flat, sturdy surface. If the unit vibrates during use, either choose a new location or place it on a rubber mat.
- Step 2. Install the metal floss pan - Put the metal floss pan in the center of the machine, making sure the center rim isn’t touching the candy floss spinner.
- Step 3. Lock down the floss pan - Secure the floss pan in place by locking down the 4 side latches.
- Step 4. Attach the candy floss shield (optional) - Place the candy floss shield on the unit, if using.
Making Candy Floss
- Step 1. Plug in the machine - Connect the unit to power by plugging the power cord into an electrical outlet.
- Step 2. Power on the unit - Turn on the Power and Heat switches.
- Step 3. Allow the machine to warm up - Preheat the unit for 15 minutes before continuing.
- Step 4. Load the machine - Fill the sugar scooper with candy floss sugar, then pour it into the center of the candy floss spinner. Be careful not to overfill the spinner since excess sugar can lead to clogs, overflows and malfunctions.
- Step 5. Collect the cotton candy - Gather the candy floss on paper tubes or sticks as it forms around the edge of the floss pan or comes out the top of the floss spinner.
Powering Down the Unit
- Step 1. Turn off the unit after 1 hour of use - Use the Power and Heat switches to power down the unit after 1 hour of continuous use.
- Step 2. Unplug the machine - Pull the power cord out of the electrical outlet.
- Step 3. Cool down the machine - Let the unit cool for 15-20 minutes to minimize the amount of burned sugar in the spinner head. Once the machine has cooled, clean the spinner head and collecting bowl to remove excess sugar; if needed, refer to our Winco cotton candy machine cleaning guide for more information.
