Lancer Kool Link Beer Dispenser Installation Instructions

Employee pouring a beer - Lancer Kool Link beer dispenser installation instructions

With beer amassing a 45% profit margin, no one can blame you for wanting to tap into that bubbly opportunity. But as of right now, those profits are sitting idly on a wooden pallet, plastic-wrapped and waiting to be pieced together like a Lego set. Luckily, your next project also shipped with a set of Lancer Kool Link beer dispenser installation instructions so you can tap the kegs and pour that first round of beer as smoothly as the brew itself.

How to Install a Kool Link Beer Dispenser

Installing a Kool Link beer dispenser isn’t complicated and won’t take too much of your time. Follow this short list of instructions to get the beer flowing:

Setting Up the Kool Link Beer Dispenser

Starting off on a solid foundation involves inspecting the machine and kit for damage and selecting an appropriate location that meets the following criteria:

  • Step 1. Inspect the beer dispenser and kits for damage – The first order of business is to carefully inspect the beer dispenser and its components for damage. If you notice anything amiss, you’ll need to have the carrier note it on the bill of lading so you can file a claim.
  • Step 2. Unpack the beer dispenser and kits– The first order of business is to take the beer dispenser and any supplied kits out of their packaging.
  • Step 3. Choose a location – There are a couple of things you should keep in mind when selecting an appropriate location for your new Kool Link beer dispenser to prevent the compressor from overheating and failing:
    • Allow for at least 6 inches of space around the machine body.
    • Install the beer dispenser on a flat surface.
    • Keep dispense points as close to the beer dispenser as possible. The manufacturer recommends installing them directly above.
    • Kegs should be close to the machine but far enough away from heat-emitting machines, such as dishwashers, refrigerant equipment, ovens, etc.
    • Keep the keg lines as short as possible.
    • The 10-15 amp power outlet should be within 9 feet.
    • Install the beer dispenser close to a water outlet (optional), Co2 supply and waste pipe (optional).

  • Step 4. Connect the product supply lines – Connect the supply lines to the keg, cooler and dispense point, following the installation diagram for reference.
  • Step 5. Connect water recirculation lines – Hook up the water recirculation lines to the ports on the agitator pump.
    • Note: This step is only necessary if the water recirculation lines are used to chill python or fonts.
  • Step 6. Check for leaks – Test all the connection points for leaks.
  • Step 7. Fill the beer dispenser with water – Fill the ice bath with fresh, clean water to the overflow line.
  • Step 8. Check the electrical supply requirements – You’ll find the electrical supply requirements for your specific Kool Link beer dispenser model on the serial number plate under the side panel where the power cord receptacle is located.
    • Warning: Failure to properly ground the unit may result in electrical shock, injury or death.
  • Step 9. Plug in the unit – Next, plug in the beer dispenser to a grounded outlet. You should hear the agitator motor/pump start immediately. However, it’ll take about 5 minutes for the compressor and condenser fan motor to kick on.
  • Step 10. Connect the Co2 regulator to its bottle – In the meantime, use a fiber washer to attach the Co2 regulator to the canister while waiting for the ice bank to form. Set the regulator to 26-35 psi or to brewery requirements before turning on the Co2 supply.
  • Step 11. Install the tapping heads on the kegs – Install the tapping heads onto the kegs. Double-check that the taps are closed and the lines are connected.
  • Step 12. Tap the kegs – Push in the tapping head levers just over the outlets until you see beer at the tap. Wait until the compressor and condenser fan are turned off before pouring the first mug.
